Nandi Hills, Karnataka is the most economical tourist spot in Karnataka. Nandi Hills is an expansive range of hills located more than 4000 sq feet above sea level. Nandi Hills has acquired a variety of names, including Ananda Giri (Hill of Happiness) and Nandidurga (Nandi Fort). The hills itself takes the natural shape of a bull (Nandi).
Tourist Spots at Nandi Hills
Tourists flock to Nandi Hills throughout the year, thanks to the cool and lush environment, not to mention budget accommodation. The pleasant air is filled with the fragrance of eucalyptus, which grows in abundance at the top of Nandi Hills. Climbing up the steps (1,175 steps to be exact!) to the peak of Nandi Hills, trekking on the slopes, spending quiet moments in a cave or temple, and having an exciting time roaming around the ruins of Tipu Sultan’s Fort are some of the many attractions of Nandi Hills.
Accessibility to Nandi Hills
Nandi Hills is one of the few places in Karnataka that is so easily accessible by road that first-time visitors too have no trouble locating it in their own wheels. Some of the routes have scenic landscapes on the way. Of course, you can have less stress to locate Nandi Hills it if you simply board one of the regular KSRTC buses from Bangalore (note: no bus between 12noon and 4p.m.).
