Why money leads to relationship break ups

Hi All,
let me start my first thread discussing about money.
In today's society the rate of relationship breakups between married and dating couples are alarming; in fact Nowadays people marry and divorce at the drop of a hat, while boyfriends and girlfriends drop each other and switch partners like there's no tomorrow.

Why is relationship breakups easily tolerated in our society today; and what is the root of it all ? Does money play a major role in this ?
