    M Chenniappan - Billiards & Snooker Player Passed away

    M Chenniappan, the virtual founder of the Billiards and snooker games in Karnataka, and the founder of the Nilgiris super market breathed his last on 16-9-2011 following respiratory sickness. He was born on 6-5-1919 and died on 16-9-2011 living for 92 years. Chenniappan was borne in a farmer's family from Uthagamandalam in Tamilnad. He established the Nilgiris farm the first super market.

    He was very much interested in the cue based games as the Billiard and Snooker. He had a vision to make Karnataka as the pinnacle place for cue based games. With this aim he started a one room parlour named as the 'Becks Billiards Saloon'. From that time he worked for making Karnataka as the hub for the billiards and snooker games and he succeeded in this aim. Chenniappan was the founder member and chief patron of the Billiards and snooker Federation of India and the erstwhile Mysore State Billiards Association. He was instrumental in the hosting of the National Championship for the first time in 1958. He was in the administration of the Billiards Association and later became the President from 1988 to 1992.

    Chenniappan has written a book 'Golden Path'. My his soul Rest In Peace.
