    International film festival at Bengaluru from Dec 15.

    This year the International film festival will be held in Bengaluru on the 15th of December, 2011. According to Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy Chairman and Festival Director around 40 countries from world will participate in the festival. There will be around 130 foreign country films, 30 films from other Indian states and 15 Kannada cinemas for participation. Out of the 15 Kannada films 8 will be of yesteryear supers and 7 from the current period.
    There will be 4 prizes one Golden Berunda for the best film, one Silver Berunda for the best director in world cinema. Along with the Golden and Silver Berundas a cash prize Rs 10 lakhs and 5 lakhs respectively will also be paid. Apart from these prizes there will be a NETPAC Jury award of Rs 2 lakhs for the best Asian film, a critic award Suchitra Sanman of Ra 2 lakhs for best film in Chitra Bharathi (Indian Cinema) and film societies; prick of Rs 2 lakhs for best Kannada film will also be presented.
    This festival is expected to bring the best o f cinema from across the globe.
