Sandesh, a speech and hearing impaired boy, aged 17, from village Heggar of Uttara Kannada district did a valiant deed of saving the life of Rashmi who fell into a river. When others accompanying her in the group could not succeed in saving Rashmi who was being carried away by the river current, he jumped into the river and brought Rashmi back to the shore. But she was unconscious and struggling for life. Again when others could not help he immediately acted, made Rashmi to lie down her back and administered CPR for pumping the water out of her lungs. He succeeded in saving the life of Rashmi.
When others failed a speech and hearing impaired boy saved the life. He learnt the technique of CPR by watching TV and movies. KSR members, we should all be proud of Sandesh who in spite of his disability did something which so-called able bodied could not do.

It is indeed a courageous act with the presence of mind which others with normal faculty could not express. The boy though specially impaired should not be considered as impaired but specially talented.
