Acting on an application under RTI by a Bangalore based advocate, Karnataka Lokayukta has asked the DG & IGP to furnish information of assets and liabilities of all the police officials. Some of the police officials have earlier put this information on the Lokayukta website voluntarily. The idea is that such information about all officials may ultimately find a place on the Lokayukta website. Do you think the police department will provide complete information and oblige the Lokayukta by exhibiting that on the website? It would be a good trend-setter and a step in the right direction to eliminate corruption.
