    Do you support the door to door campaign of Educational Institutions for joining students?

    We normally observe in the summer season during the vacations period of students, represents belonging to various Educational Institutes campaigns door to door for joining the students into their institutions. Schools and Colleges managements due to heavy competition and in order to increase their Educational Institute strength adopts these kind of campaigns. As we all know that the student and his/her parents chooses Institution which is suitable, these kind of campaigns applies pressure on both parents and students. Members share your views towards regarding do you support the campaigning of Educational Institutions for joining students

    Certain institutions undertake door to door campaign for admitting students to their institutions. This is a wrong approach. Some managements approach the political leaders of the area and bribe them to use their influence with the parents to get their children admitted in their institutes. The parents are not guided properly. The best approach for the parents should be not to get influenced by these tactics of the managements. They should visit the schools in the area themselves and see what facilities are provided by the schools or colleges. The parents can ask the other parents whose children are already studying in those schools to get the correct information. The parents can directly go to the institutions and see what infrastructure is provided by the schools. They can talk to the school staff. They can also enquire about the qualifications and experience of the school staff. The previous results also can be guide for admissions.

    I think instead of going door-to-door it would be better that the Institution adopt Seminar approach. They can invite schools from the feeder area or even can go to schools and hold a seminar to explain the strength of their Institution and thus attract them. Door-to-door signifies desperation which can convey adverse meaning of the campaign. Well-established Institutions never indulge in it and they don't need it in fact. Also door-to-door approach may reflect on the discipline of the Institution as the students may think that they are quite important and this is how Institution needs them rather than they need the Institution. There are instance when students did not deposit the fee or delayed it thinking that the Institution cannot afford to take any disciplinary action on them due to their privileged position created in their minds because of door-to-door approach.
