Who should become a minister ?

A person who is well versed in politics is elected in elections. People expect him/her to do some good for their constituency. But what knowledge do they have in ministry. How can they guide technical departments without knowing basic of it.I think government must do something to change this. Some people in opposition party some times might have good knowledge in a particular department. I think the government must give opposition some power in it. They can take advice from them and implement some decisions.
what do you think of ministers in our country?

A Minister at the state level or at Centre is supposed to be an experienced politician. By and large certain key Ministries like Home, Finance, Foreign Affairs, Defence etc. are allotted to those MPs who have long standing in the parliament and have some background of working with these Ministries. This may always not be the case with State legislatures. Apart from experience a Minister should be having a clean image, effective and having the capacity to take decision whenever such situation arises. Unfortunately politicians with some dubious records and cases pending against them could find a berth in State/Centre level Ministeries. Their number seems to be significant. It would be good if youth of the nation comes forward and only politicians with clean image are given responsible positions.
