A new portal Kannada Wikipedia launched in Karnataka

You can now access information on any subject of the Internet in your own Kannada language, as the state government on Saturday launched the so-called Wikipedia Kannada Kanaji, which can be accessed at www.kanaja.in.

The launch of the portal, the Chief BS Yeddyurappa said that Karnataka was the first state in the country to have an electronic encyclopedia in the local language.
The site has a field for the shipment of at least Rs 1.30 million articles on various topics and the government has earmarked Rs 2 million rupees for this purpose, he added.

The portal was developed by the Karnataka Knowledge Commission in association with the Kannada Development Authority and Kannada, Culture and Information department.

The website has differenrent sections like, Art, Culture, History, Science, Finance , Agriculture, Sports, Business etc.
