Kukke Shree Subrahmanya Temple, Mangalore, Karnataka.


Kukke Shree Subrahmanya temple is a piligrimage place and a Hindu temple located in the small, rural village of Subramanya in the Sullia taluk of Dakshin Kannada District near Mangalore, Karnataka.

This is a place where Lord Subrahmanya is workshippped in the form of Serpent. The poojas are offered to Vasuki or Nagaraja (Serpents) which are nothing but the poojas offered to Lord Subrahmanya. This is a temple where people go to workship Subrahmanya who is in the form of Snake. Those having Sarpa Doshas or other related doshas based on Sarpa is cleared here. The results are proved to be very effective. The delays in marriage, unhappiness in life, improsperity all is sometimes due to the doshas one comes across due to Serpent. As the main lord is Serpent here, this is one of the famous places where one can clear such doshas.

There is a river called Kumaradhara (Kumara is the name of Lord Subrahmanya. It is believed that Lord Subrahmanya killed a demon and wash washed the weapons in this river. It is a big river which continuous keeps flowing. The climate there is also very drizling most of the time as it is a Hill station. Those who come to this temple have to take bath in this river and then perform the Poojas.

Poojas :-
The main pooja here is Sarpa Samskara / Sarpa Dosha. Sarpa Samskara/Sarpa Dosha is the pooja which is performed by those who have naga doshas. The Pooja costs approximately around Rs. 1600/- where 4 members are allowed to perform the pooja. The naga dosha comes to a person if he would have seen a dead snake, he or his family members would have harmed a snake or tried killing it. All these harms the peaceful life of a person. some people knowingly or unknowingly get affected by this dosha. The solution to get rid of this is to perform Sarpa Samskara.

How to reach:-
Kukke subramanya can be reached by road from Mangalore and Bangalore. There are many KSRTC buses available at all the places of Karnataka.

There are many guest houses and hotels of the Temple where one can stay with limited payment as the guest houses are of the Temples.
