History of Brindavan Gardens in Mysore
The Brindavan Gardens in Mysore is the most beautiful place and is world popular for its unique symmetric design. It is one of the pretty laid out terrace gardens in the world. Formation of this garden in the Krishnaraja Sagar Dam was by the Dewan, Sir Mirza Ismail. The beauty of the garden is enhanced by number of terraces, fountains, running parterres, cascading water channels, green lawns, flowering plants, small shrubs and green trees. It is very proud to say that the Brindavan Gardens is world popular by its unique beauty.
Location of Brindavan Gardens in Mysore
It is situated in Srirangapatna, which is in Mandya district near Mysore. Brindavan Gardens is located in the site of Krishnaraja Sagar dam, which is built across the river Cauvery. The distance from Bangalore is just 143 Km to reach.
Beauty of Brindavan Gardens in Mysore
At the beginning a terrace garden was laid out at the backside of Krishnaraja Sagar dam site. Then the Department of Horticulture begins to build this garden in the year 1927, and it was named Krishnarajendra Terrace Garden.
Now the garden covers the area of 60 acres with three terraces. The slopes of this garden are planted with different colored Bougainvilleas and ornamental plants. The colorful fountains and decorated lighting enrich the beauty of this Garden. The changing colour light of the running water and fountain is the main attraction of tourists in the evening time. The garden also has green lawns, colourful flower beds and verity of ornamental plants, which gives treat to the visitor’s eyes. The boating facility is also available for the Tourists.
Fountain In Brindavan Garden
The most interesting thing in Brindavan Gardens is the Musical and dancing fountain, which is situated in the North Brindavan. This event is under the control of a water organ which is operated by a controller. The remaining other fountains are working in the principle of water pressure. A laser vision is also here for tourist’s attraction. A rain shelter is also here for view.
Childrens’ Park in Brindavan Garden
Childrens’ Park is situated at the back side of South Brindavan. Here the kids can play and enjoy the found slide, concrete animals, birds and water species.
Other Tourists Attraction in Brindavan Gardens
The beautiful statue of the Goddess Cauvery, Children’s’ Park, Hydraulic Research Station,Horticultural farm, plants Nursery and Fisheries Pond other places to visit
Information to Tourists:
The opening time of this Garden to visitors is from 6.30 A.M. to 9.00 P.M. Entry fee is must for adults and vehicles. Children at the age of below 5 years can enter free. Unauthorized use of photo and video are prohibited here.
