Northkarnataka is called as gandu mettida nela. reson behind that stamina is Jolada Rotti(Jowar Rotti).


Jolada Rotti


This is the main food in north Karnataka, which consists of less cholesterol and of more carbohydrates.

Ingredients

Jowar floor:
Water
Salt – a pinch

Procedure

1.Boil the water and mix the boiled water immediately with the jowar floor and salt .
2.Mix it properly and kneed well. Make the dough as chapathi dough and make small balls.
3.Put little flour on the rolling board and keep the dough ball and start rotating clockwise the dough using the palm by applying the even pressure on the it.
4.Once you are satisfy with the size, stop it rotating and put rotti on a hot tava , apply some water using small cloth.
5.Roast it for few seconds. Turn the rotti and again roast the other side and remove from the tava. serve it with pallya(like Yennegai Badanekai) and chutney.
