Veteran actor K.S. Ashwath passes away

Senior Kannada actor K.S. Ashwath passed away today 19-01-2010 at mysore due to multiple organ failure. He was receiving treatment for the past seven days at Mysore’s Bannappa Hospital.

Few days back karnataka home minister Dr. V.S. Acharya has visited ailing Ashwath and told that all the medical expenses will be taken care by government and also members of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce had recently visited the ailing actor at the hospital in Mysore.

K.S. Ahswath has acted in more than 300 kannada films during his 50 years of cine career. His first film was 'Sthree Rathna' and lst film was 'Bhupathi'

Ashwath was awarded honorary doctorate by Tumkur University and he also received the prestigious Dr. Raj Kumar award for excellence in acting from the Karnataka government. He has also won best supporting actor twice from karnataka state government.

Ashwath was best suited for supporting actor, and he used to perform his duty very well in that part, he has acted with many kannada superstars.He was well known for his part 'Chamayya Meshtru in the movie Nagara Haavu along with the actor late Dr.Vishnuvardhan who recently expired.

Ashwath has left behind his wife Sharada, two sons and two daughters.
