This article gives useful tips and general information for Visitors to Bannerghatta Biological Park, Bangalore.

Before visiting the Bannerghatta Biological Park, it is a good idea to know some general information about the Park.

Useful tips and general information for visitors to the Bannerghatta Biological Park

1. It is a sensible idea to set out on your journey to the Bannerghatta Biological Park early, as Bangalore is notorious for its bumper-to-bumper traffic & jammed roads.

2. The Bannerghatta Biological Park opens at 9 a.m., so most visitors generally arrive at about 10a.m. Hence, there tends to be a heavy rush at for buying tickets for the safari bus rides right from 10a.m. onwards. So why not get up early and set out earlier than the normal time and arrive right about the time the gates open? You can always catch up on your beauty sleep later! In fact, this way you can also (i) avoid bus-loads of school kids who add to the general crowds; (ii) actually see the denizens roaming around in their habitat (rather than sleeping during their afternoon siesta hours).

3. The largest crowds to the Bannerghatta Biological Park are during week-ends.

4. It is best to take along your own food. There are some small food stores within the Bannerghatta Biological Park, but these sell general snacks and ice-creams that are priced at higher than normal rates.
5. If you bring along munchies like branded chips, at the entrance of the Bannerghatta Biological Park you will have to surrender the plastic bags. The staff will return the chips to you in paper bags – an extra star for the environment-friendly staff!

6. Please do not litter the place and do stop others from littering too.

7. Be very careful to hold on to your possessions – not only your handbags but also food packets – as monkeys roam around freely and have a nasty habit of snatching items right from your hands.

8. Please do not tease any of the animals, birds or reptiles.
