From sports point of view Kodagu is famous for Hockey other two are Soccer and Cricket

Mangalore is the nearest airport at an distance of 180 km and Bangalore with 310 km

Mysore is the nearest railway station to Kodagu at an distance of 190 km, Mangalore at 170 km and Bangalore at an distance of 290 km

Liquor is the major contribution from Kodagu towards Karnataka’s revenue with Rs.7.33 crores per annum

In the last fiscal around 5,80,097 cartons of IML is from the Kodagu district, where as the current fiscal it is 7,54,330 cartons

23,095 cartons of beer has been sold till January end

Here few plantation owners used to give liquor as part of the wages to labourers

Liquor consumption is an part of custom at Kodagu as the climatic conditions here at Kodagu encourages the consumption of liquor
