Bangalore City:
Bangalore the Garden city is the Capital of Karnataka state, India. This Beautiful city is located on the Deccan Plateau of south east Karnataka. Though the cost of living in Bangalore city is high it is very popular among the people of India for its unique cool climate, Quality Education, IT industries, software parks and business Centers.
In Bangalore, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) was established in the year 1972 by Department of Space, headquartered in Bangalore city.
History of Bangalore:
The name Bangalore is from the words "Bendha Kaalu" which means boiled beans (Bendha- Boiled, Kallu – Beans).
Once a King called Veera Ballala of Vijayanagara kingdom was lost his way in the forest and stayed alone in a forest cottage. An old lady, who lived there served boiled beans "Bendha kaalu" for his hunger, after that the place was known as "Bendha kaaLu ooru" (ooru- place). BendhakaaLooru later changed as BengaLooru in Kannada language and Bangalore in English. However, historical evidence says that "BengaLooru" was recorded in 9th century at the period of King Ballala. The name Bangalore was officially changed to Bangaluru on 1-11-2006 by the Karnataka Government.

Bangalore has a very pleasant climate which attracts Tourists from all over the world.

The Lowest temperature recorded in Bangalore: 7.8 °C (This was recorded on 1-10-1997).
Heaviest rainfall recorded in Bangalore: 179 millimeters (In24-hour period).
Economy of Bangalore :
Bangalore is one of the fast growing metropolitan cities in India. Agriculture and industries are the two main sources, which boost the economy of Bangalore state. Industries like Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT), Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL), National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML)etc are the major companies offering jobs in Bangalore.
Bangalore is the home for many IT companies like Software Technology Parks and International Tech Park. Infosys and Wipro are considered as King of IT industries in Bangalore. Biocon is the largest biotechnology company located in Bangalore.
Bangalore Tourism:
Bangalore is famous for its unique beauty which attracts tourists, the main sight seeing places in Bangalore are Lal Bagh, Forum Mall, Vidhana Soudha, Iskcon temple, Cubbon Park, Bugle Rock, Bull Temple, Bannerghatta National Park, Nandi Hills, Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum etc.
