This article gives the details about the Air India flight crashes 19 miles outside of Mangalore

An Air India Express plane crashed and burst with nearly 160 passengers. It is reported that the plane was trying to land in the rain at a tricky hilltop airport in southern India overshot the runway, and met the crash.
The plane crash took place around 6 a.m.on 22/05/2010, when the plane tried to land at Bajpe,it is located about 19 miles away from Mangalore.

The plane was carrying 160 passengers and six crew members,in that eight passengers hold their life in the nearby hospitals.
