The auto rickshaw fare/ charge in karnataka.

As a result of fuel price hike, the auto-rickshaw fares has been revised in Karnataka on 26 July 2010. As per the new tariff, the minimum charge for auto-rickshaw(upto 2km) in karnataka is Rs 17. For each additional kilometers, the passenger has to pay Rs 9. Currently, the min charge is Rs 14 & Rs 7 for extra km. The new tariff will be effective from August, 2010.

Hi,

Auto drivers have been charging extra fare in addition to the actual fare. Further, they never give the change. They never return one or two rupees to the passengers even if they have change.Travelling by autos after 9.30Pm is a very expensive affair as the auto drivers ask for double rate even if it is one and a half.

I think the government should introduce share autos to the remote areas which can be easily affordable to the common man.
