Auto drivers ' unruly behavior in Bangalore

People hesitate to take an auto in Bangalore because some of the auto drivers are very rude and greedy.

    Hello Members,

I am sure some day or other you would have felt very sorry for journeying by an auto in Bangalore. Their behavior is becoming bad to worst. Their greed for making extra bugs is turning bad to worse. Already the minimum charge has been raised, still they ask extra. In addition, they refuse to give change even if they have.

Boarding an auto early in the morning from the Majestic railway station is a nightmare.
God only save if the passenger is a female.

I feel it is high time the government introduces share autos as the system is very much accepted by people living in Koltata,Mumbai and Chennai. The government does not operate frequent bus service in remote areas.

A middle class person commuting every day spends a big amount of money when he or she is forced to take the auto when there is no other alternative available.
When can Bangaloreans breathe and travel comfortably and peacefully without making a big whole in their pocket?.

    Hi,

You have brought in a very good topic of discussion which is a very common problem one sees now a days. It is very difficult to travel by buses as the Government has hiked the fares which is difficult for common people to afford. Governments buses are the transport which middle class people can afford. There are also people below poverty level which Government has not recognised or thought about while increasing the fares of the Buses. Top on this, the auto drivers do not return the change and before getting into the autos, they demand for Rs. 20 although the minimum is Rs. 17 only. The simple reason they give is that they dont have change.

It if ofcourse very difficult to rely only on Government buses and at times when the buses do not come on time, then it is very difficult to go for Autos when there is no other way else than travelling. I feel it is really bad that Auto drivers charge more than expected.

    Regards,
    Mala.
