Mamatha Banerjee presented her railways budget 2011 on 25th February 2011. The Railway Budget 2011-12 is said to have fulfilled several longstanding demands of Karnataka, which including a direct train between Karwar and Bangalore.

What Karnataka got from railway budget 2011

1) Mysore- Bangalore to get a new train

2) Charan Bhoomi express, dedicated to students, on Bangalore, Mysore, Hassan, and Hubli Gadag sectors

3) New Hampi-Gadag Train

4) Howrah to Yeshwanthpur- five times a week

5) New coach factory to be set up in Kolar through PPP or JV model

6) New Bangalore-Bangarpet express

7) Bangalore-Dharmavaram express

8) New train between Erunakulam-Bangalore

9) Ahmedabad-Chennai train to run via Hubli
