Bangalore used to be called the garden city. Unfortunately, due to unexpected development of the city, roads are being widened to ease the traffic.Further, the government is also trying to introduce other modes such as Metro rail to control bottle necks on the main roads. I still feel sorry for the axing of tress but is there any other alternative? In this essay I will discuss the issue in detail.

Axing of trees in Garden city Bangalore

We all know that Bangalore has earned a special place in India for its greenery and the moderate climate. Other names of Bangalore are 'Pensioners' Paradise'.

Alas! the uniqueness of the city is fading because of felling of trees.

Deforestation in Bengaluru, Karnataka

The issue is a highly debatable one because there is some validity in both the sides of the coin. Some people feel that trees are vital for the Bengaluru City of Karnataka and it would be a colossal crime to cut the trees which help us not only to breath fresh but also to get rain. They are afraid that the Bengaluru city of Karnataka will undergo a lot of climate changes in Bengaluru, Karnataka in the near future. For example, the media has reported how some elite of Bangalore had fought tooth and nail against the local authorities when some trees were supposed to be axed. They even hugged the trees like warriors when the act was ready to be staged. I fully agree with their views.

Road traffic jam in Bengaluru

However, some other people opine that as Bangalore is developing leaps and bounds, there is continuous traffic jams across the Bengaluru city which leads to chaos on the main roads.During peak hours commuters lose their patience and their blood pressure shoots up to the maximum extent.

To control the situation, the Karnataka government has decided to widen the roads and the innocent victims are none other than the green trees and tree lovers. We think there should be some other alternative to check traffic and trees should be spared.

Is there really an alternative? Well! it is indeed a million dollar question!
Free traffic and peaceful journey without trees or chaos and more bottle necks and stress while using the Bangalore roads? Citizens of Bangalore which side would you take?
