53 years-old farmer tyrannized to death by knave elephant in Mandya, Karnataka

The name of the old man tyrannized to death by elephant in Mandya is Sanne Gowda and he was at his groundnut field that night. The old man who was tyrannized by knave elephant in Mandya stayed there overnight to take care of his field when this event had occurred. Sanne Gowda's groundnut field is situated adjacent to a forest area from where there is a chance for that elephant to have got into the place he stayed.

Gowda's family members were not aware of the death of old man by an elephant in Mandya till the next day. They thought that he was guarding their agriculture field and expected his return the next day. When Gowda did not return to his house for long time, his family members came to their groundnut field in search of him. Only when they came in search of Gowda, they found that Gowda was stamped by a vigorous elephant and killed.

The police men found that the forest nearer to Gowda's field was the place from where the elephant had reached the place he stayed that night. Karnataka's forest minister Mr Vijaya Shankar has declared that Rs 5 lakhs will be given to the family of Gowda who was killed by an elephant in Mandya, KArnataka as compensation for his loss. Mr Vijaya Shankar also ensured the villagers of Machenahalli that all required steps will be taken to avoid elephants destroying agriculture fields. The forest officers sent the knave elephant to the forest from which it came.

In the district of Mandya city, Sanne Gowda is the second person to die by knave elephant attack within last 15 days.
