Ingredients required to prepare Khara Mandakki in North Karnataka Stlye
1.Mandakki(Puffed rice) - 1/4kg or 1 litre
2.Turmeric Powder - pinch
3.Curry leaves - 10-12
4.Oil (Ground nut/sunflower) - 4-5 table spoon
5.Mustard and cummin(jeera) - 1/2 table spoon
6.Garlic pieces - 5-6 numbers
7.Groundnut - 3 table spoons
8.Salt - as required
9.Green Chilly - 2 for taste (Chopped)
10.Redchilly powder - 1/2 tea spoon
11.Roasted Gram Dal (Putani) - 2 table spoon
12.Chopped Onion - 1 small bowl
13.Chopped Tomato - 1 small bowl
14.Coriender leaves - as required
15.Lime juice - 2 spoons
Preparation of Khara Mandakki in North Karnataka Stlye
1.Put the cooking Kadai on stove and pour cooking oil to the Kadai.
2.Leave for a while to get oil to be heated then add chopped green chilly and stir and then add Mustard and cummin(jeera),Curry leaves,garlic pieces, Groundnut,Roasted Gram Dal (Putani),turmeric powder,red chilly powder and salt.
3.Put the stove in sim and add mandakki(Puffed rice) to the mixture.
4. Mix it well and switch off the stove.
5.Serve to the plates.
6.For better taste serve with chopped onions,tomatos and little bit of lime juice and coriander leaves.
Now Tasty,Spicy,Khara Mandakki is Ready.
