This article gives brief information about Right To Information act - 2005. Which is came into force on 12.10.2005.RTI act becoming very strong tool to monitor the government activities and control the public authorities of state government as well as central government.

Right to information act came into force on 12.10.2005.
Every Indian Citizen must have brief idea about Right to information Act.
Nowadays Right to information Act becomes very strong tool monitor Government activities,Public authorities responsibilities.Right to information act empowers every citizen to seek any information from Government. And RTI helps to maintain transparency in Government activities and helps to control corruption.

RTI has many success stories. RTI also helps to build a Transparent society.
The Purpose of right to Information act is

1.As India is democratic country, every citizen need to know the activities of government.
2.A legal system to insist on transparency.
3.Avoid Corruption.
4.Make people holding public office accountable for their action.

By using Right to information act every citizen can get information(Information means-any material in any form,including records,documents,memos,e-mails,orders,circulars for details- http://rti.gov.in/etc..) from any Government offices within prescribed time mentioned RTI act.
