This article gives information about general and electrical safety and prevention of electrical accidents in day today life.By practising standard safety practices we can avoid electrical accidents.Article gives the information about safety practices,reasons for electrical accidents and effects of electric shock.

General & Electrical Safety and Prevetion of Accidents
There is quote "Electricity is Loyal Servant but never Excuses"
Electricity is very good friend when you care it properly, but electricity is enemy when you neglect it.
In any work safety cannot be forgotten.When it comes to working with electricity every one have to take more precautions.
Most reasons for Electrical Accidents
1.Lack of Knoweledge
2.Overconfidance.
3.Working in hurry.
4.Breaking safety ruless and instruction/guidelines.
5.Lack of Concentration.
6.Use of improper,defective tools.
7.Lack of comon sense
8.Not using of personal protective Equipments (like Safety hand gloves,Safety Shoes etc)
9.Improper Earthing of Electrica equipments/Appartus
10.Loose connection of electrical wires.
11.Improper wire/cable joints.
12.Using of Under rated/non standard equipments.
13.Failure of insulation of wires/cables.
Electric Shock
An Electric shock is a sudden agitation of nervous system of a body due to flow of electric current.
Effects of Electric Shock on Human Body
Effect of electric shock on human body depends on the strength and duration of flow of electric current through the body.
1.It causes a sudden jerk and paralyses the nerve centers
2.May stops breathing.
3.May upsets normal heart functions.
4.Victim may become unconscious and even die.
Prevetnion of Electrical Accidents
Electrical Accidents can be prevented by practicing following standard safety practices
1.Ensuring Earthing of Home/Office earthing and equipment/appartus earthing.
2.Using of ISI marked equipments/Appartus.
3.Ensure tight connecions of all wires/joints.
4.Be alert while working with electricity.
5.Study the specific safety manual and istruction befor starting the work.
6.Do not wear loose dress, dress materials with metals buttons, chappal/shoes with nails. Use Rubber Chappals.
7.Do not stand on wetted floar or do not use weted table,stools ect.
Important
Dont work or try to work on electricity if you are not authorised person or dont have aware of electricity.Call authorised/skilled persons(lineman/electrician) to do electric works
