Sadananda Gowda has been selected as then new chief minister of Karnataka which ended all speculations regarding the next chief minster of Karnataka. DV Sadhanada Gowda will now succeed the outgoing chief minister Yeddurappa.

Ending all speculations, DV Sadananda Gowda has been selected as the new chief minister of Karnataka.Being elected from udupi-chimagalur consistuency as MP, Mr.Gowda defeated jagadish shettar by a margin of 8 votes.

The new chief minister of Karnataka was elected by a secret ballot. The MLA's of Karnataka legislature met on wednesday to choose the new leader from among DV Sadanada Gowda and Jagadish Shettar, the current rural development minister of Karnataka.

Sadananda Gowda got 63 votes while Jagadish Shettar managed to get only 55 votes in his favour.

For the past one week the BJP party was in search of a new leader for the state as there were allegation against Yadyurappa and his family being involved in the illegal mining as report submitted by Santhosh Hegde last week.

According to media reports, Sadananda Gowda will take over as the new chief minister of Karnataka in a grant function to be held on friday.
