North Karnataka Recipe Menthe Kadabu

Recipe of Menthe Kadabu in North Karnatak Style




Ingredients required to prepare Metnhe Kadabu


1.Wheat flour - 1 bowl

2.methi leaves (Menthe palle) - 1 1/2 (One and half) bowl

3.Curry leaves - 4-6

4.Oil (Ground nut/sunflower) - 1-2 table spoon

5. Cummin (jeera) - 1/2 table spoon

6.Sambar Powder - 1/2 table spoon

7.Salt - as required

8.coriender leaves - as required

9.Chopped Onion - 1 small bowl

10.Chopped Tomato - 1 Small bowl

11.Mustard - 1/4 table spoon

12.Turmeric Powder - pinch

13.Red chill Powder - as required.

Preparation of Menthe Kadabu in North Karnataka Stlye




1.Take the wheat flour and add water as required. The mixture of wheat flour and water
should be like as you prepared for chapati/puri and leave the mixture for 30 minutes.


2. Prepare the small bolls from mixture of the wheat flour and water.(The size of balls should be

3.Press the balls by hand as thin as possible.

4.Boil the pressed thin balls in cooker (only water) for 12-14 whistles.

5.Put the pan on stove and pour oil to pan.

6.Add curry leaves, mustard, cummin and leave for while, then add chopped onions & pinch of turmeric powder.
Let allow onions to become golden brown colour.

7.Add red chilly powder and chopped tomato, leave for few minutes.

8.Add methi leaves (Menthe palle) and leave it for 5 minutes. Keep stirring while frying.

9.Add masala Powder to the mixture.

10.Then add boiled pressed balls of wheat flour and add 1/2 cup water and cook untill water get evaporates.


11. Garnish with coriender leaves.


Now Tastey, Delicious Menthe Kadabu (Methi Kadabu) is Ready to Serve.
