First Woman governor Karnataka V. S. Ramadevi.
V. S. Ramadevi is the first female governor of Karnataka and still to date. She was severed many years in Judicial department in various honorable position. She is Andhra born Layer, worked as Self election commissioner of India.
Early Life and Education.
Smt Rama devi was born 15th January 1934 at Chebrolu in Andhra pradesh.Father Shri V.V.Subbhiah and Mother Smt. V. Venkata Ratnamma. She was educated at Eluru and Hyderabad. She done is M.A LLB
Register himself as Advocate in the High Court of Andhra Pradesh.
Joined the Central Government Service as an officer belonging to Group-A Service
various Responsibility as a Member of the Indian Legal Service in the Legislative Department.
Special Secretary in the Legislative Department
Member-Secretary of the Law Commission; and Secretary to the Government of India;
Secretary to the Government of India in the Legislative Department and also member- Secretary, Law Commission simultaneously for some time;
Chief Election Commissioner of India for 2 week(26 /11/ 1990 to 11 /12/1990).
Served as Honorary Advisor to the National Commission for Women
Appointed as Secretary-General, Rajya Sabha from 1st July 1993 to 25th July 1997.
Judicial Experience: Served as Judicial Member of the Customs, Excise and Gold Control Appellate Tribunal in the first batch under the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue)
13 Governor of Karnataka and first woman governor of the state form 02 December 1999 to 20 August 2002.
Her Husband died when she was as governor (oct/8/2001)

Now she was with the Son in Andhra Pradesh where she was born.
