This college is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University. This college is also popularly known as People's Education Society Institute of Technology. Admission in PESIT is based on Common Entrance Test conducted in Karnataka for UG course. Students can also get their UG seats through COMED-K UGET test ranks. 25% of the seats were available for management quota. Getting seats through management quota doesn't consider marks. Lateral entry scheme is also available in this college. Students with high scores in diploma were invited to this college. Lateral entry will enter the college only in second year.

PG admission
PG admission in PES institute Bangalore is based on GATE test scores and Post Graduate Karnataka Common Entrance Test marks. MBA admission in PESIT is most competitive of all PG courses in this college.
